Studying riders in Spain because of owning this breed led me down a path of producing displays for the public, this then allowed me to meet and watch a vast number of great masters from the prestigious schools in Europe. Many of these gentlemen I am now lucky enough to call friends and have spent many hours discussing the finer points of riding.

Who Is Richard

Born 1955 English

I am a rider who owns two lovely Andalusian Spanish Horses, Lucero (Bay) born 1981 and Centello (Gray) born 1991. My experiences started like all others riding very badly till I witnessed Joao Oliveira (son of Nuno Olivera) riding and considered that there was a better way to ride. I went away and retrained myself and horse. My passion is good riding and it can become very obsessive to obtain correct movement.

My studies have been vast reading many works by great masters and have tried to understand their part in history by following their teachings on my horses. I also find the study of different cultures of horsemanship from around the world most fascinating and has enlightened me to the fact that there is only one way to ride and that's correctly.

Many of my pupils have gone on to do better things and most I am glad to say teach. The reason for starting this site was because of my pupils as they believe that good information should not be kept to the few.

I do consider this media has a significant role to play in the future of horsemanship, if it is used intelligently for the purpose of greater understanding and not to degrade as can be seen on some news groups. I am no computer master and save that for my horses so if you find faults on this site you may mail me and if possible with an answer how to rectify.
